The International Fleet Safety Award 2015 was officially attributed to Selçuk Gündoğdu, Vaillant Group Commodity Buyer. Emmanuel Longeard, Renault-Nissan Alliance International Key Accounts Director for Renault, handed out this prize, which puts security in the center of fleet management.
For six years, Selçuk Gündoğdu has managed a fleet of 4,000 vehicles at Vaillant, one of the major companies worldwide in heating services present in over 20 countries.
His prime motivation in fleet management is to show that individual driver safety is a matter of efficient communication. More continuously updated information provided to drivers equals better and safer behaviour, but also allows a more transparent management policy. For this reason he manages a fleet where the presence of telematics in some countries and Driving License checks help to detect risky driving attitudes and a Driver Safety training course is proposed to eradicate them. Mr. Gündoğdu’ s win tonight at the Fleet Europe Awards 2015 illustrates that safety is green, cost-efficient and is keeping employees satisfied. Following this fact, pushing forward a sustainable driving behaviour leads to more responsible drivers.
